FNA (vol. 25, 2003) elevates Dichanthelium sphaerocarpon var. isophyllum (= D. polyanthes), therefore according to FNA, Kartesz's D. sphaerocarpon var. sphaerocarpon is equivalent to D. sphaerocarpon.
